We have been trying out various markets over the past few weeks trying to get our regular weekly schedule fixed. So far we have decided to stick with Hesdin on Thursdays and Le Touquet on Saturdays. This means you will no longer be seeing us at the Friday market on Étaples. If you live in the area, why don’t you drop by Le Touquet on Saturday instead? It is only 5 kilometres away, anyway.

Hey there!
Rise and shine for us as we are heading to the Hesdin markets today. Since this is our first time, we will have to get to know the “placier”, the organiser who assigns spots. In this case, the “placier” is a really energetic woman with a piece of chalk who walks around the Hesdin centre physically marking the amount of space you want! A space is not something you get to book here which means in high-season people get left out.
We will post some pics when we get back but if you are in the area, come and meet us!

Bonjour!
We would like you all to know that we moved to northern France. Yes! We left sunny Greece for the French countryside, call us crazy but we decided we needed to be closer to the centre of Europe. Our base is a tiny village called Rimboval in the Pas-de-Calais region. Everyone here is pretty great and we have already made close friends.
Best of all, we will be introducing ALBINO to the French markets with our humble stall. Stay tuned for market locations and wish us luck!
Did we mention? The multilingual goodness of our manual and all other literature included in our product now includes French.

There are useful things you can do with your time or you can visit Command-Shift-3 and get addicted the same way cracking salty sunflower seeds with your teeth are addictive. When you visit the site, you are presented with two random sites side-by-side, one-on-one and you click on the one you like the best. That’s it! That site wins the “battle”. Then you are presented with the next randomly selected pair of sites, or “battle”, and you keep selecting until you get tired of it. We submitted our site to the repository from which the random sites are drawn from sometime ago and so far we have won 2 out of 2 battles. Does not sound like much but given the fact that there are nearly 16,000 sites in the repository these 2 battles put us on the top 50%. So far we have never encountered our site in a battle ourselves but if we ever do, we wouldn’t taint the results by clicking on it. Wanna battle it out?

How exciting! GUERRILLA INNOVATION which we like to visit for design news, actually talked about us! Feels a little like hearing someone you like talk about you The interesting thing is how this particular post contrasted ALBINO to a product from Marks and Spencer and said “… Marks & Spencer have a similar product. However, Albino is solely focused on one kind of product and they’ve managed to create a unique and personal universe around it.” We would like to add that Marks & Spencer shirts do not have a stabilising backing like ours, are offered in one design not over 70 and finally you don’t get the range of the 22 colours ALBINO T-shirts offer.
Thanks Guerillas, we promise to work on adult sizes too!

With all the busyness leading to the holiday season, we almost forgot the site became 1 year old! We made the site public at the end of November 2007. A lot of things have happened since: our 70 designs are double what we started with, we have a blog we like and we introduced the 20% “T-shirt of the Week” discount.
Happy birthday little site! We hope you grow to be a lovely big one!

Feeling like a cargo train trying to get presents for everyone this holiday season? We know what you mean. Introducing the Steam Locomotive to help you power through that shopping maybe not faster, but more loudly, with more style and with more bells and whistles. Think of it as a little reminder to let out some steam every once in a while.
Available now in the ALBINO on-line shop.

Our collection just got a whole lot more dangerous with the addition of Kathryn’s new design “Sharks“. These three guys seem to be circling our shirts and they have an enormous appetite for colour. Any colour markers we put near them they devoured in a frenzy! Thankfully, when Kathryn designed them, she also devised a colection of colour schemes to help with their peculiar diet.
Available now in the ALBINO on-line shop.

Lost At E Minor showcases the work of some very interesting artists. It is filled with inspirational pop-culture illustrations, photographs, music, design, products and more. We have been subscribers to their e-mail newsletter for a long time now and you can imagine our excitement when our very own Fly T-shirt showed up amongst their posts with some very good words attached! Kathryn shared this fact with me in a very excited manner at midday Australian time but we live in Greece which made it four o’clock in the morning!
Here’s a quote from them: “These t-shirts by Greek company Albino are colourinable, so kids can add their own little splashes of colour and then cruise the streets with their own artwork emblazoned proudly across their chests.” Some content in the following link might be rated M15+ for mature audiences so make sure you are over 15 before clicking: Read more at Lost At E Minor…
Lost At E Minor is one online publication I do not mind missing some sleep over. Thanks guys!

There are some design blogs we love to read everyday and swissmiss is one of our most favourite. She has her own design studio in NYC and she likes to cover design in a very diverse way. According to Home Rejuvination, her blog is one of the 10 most influential design blogs of 2008.
Well, she just wrote a post about our ALBINO shirts and put us in her kids’ gift guide, yeay! From all our publicity shots, she decided on the master of colour himself: the Chameleon. Nice choice.
Thank you swissmiss!

Looks like some of our customers have blogs. This one, Colette, decided to share the ALBINO fun with her readers. We have put a few of her pictures up on our blog but you should head over to the Sew Tessuti blog to read the full post and see some extra pictures.

The two T-shirts unboxed and their markers before colouring in.

The owl butterfly partially coloured in. Notice the instruction booklet to the side. You can see the completed practice sheets. Also notice how little she has to hold down the shirt thanks to our unique fabric stabilizing method.

And our sinister frog is looking positively green!
The girls did a great job colouring-in the shirts. We hope their little cousins will like them.
Thanks Colette! Fantastic pictures, great post!
Apart from her great blog, Sew Tessuti, Colette and her husband Greg also own Tessuti fabrics. Tessuti sells designer fabrics collected from all over the world … and beautiful they are. They have several stores in Sydney but if you can’t get to one then visit their online shop.

Exciting stuff people! Style magazine from Australia has briefly mentioned our product in their “Baby style” section. We really love this because this magazine goes out to women and mothers in country NSW. From the horse’s mouth:
“Indulge your child’s inner fashion designer with these super cute Albino colourinable t-shirts. A rewarding and creative project, the t-shirts come in a variety of designs and you can purchase different coloured markers to create the ultimate fashion statement! www.myalbino .com”
Thanks Jacqui!

All the way from Down-Under, also known as Australia, these two sisters sent us photos of themselves wearing their finished ALBINO T-shirts. Alexandra coloured-in the very very tall Giraffe and Anastasia did the Beaked Coralfish which she also signed with her name. Very cleanly done, great job girls!

Before
 After
The little shirts in the front page animation were starting to get a little tired from scrolling across the screen day after day. We thought they deserved a break. Their replacements do not just scroll, they are very talkative and will try to explain to you what ALBINO T-shirts are. Five different animals introduce the product: the Chameleon, the Clowfish, the Octopus, the Basset hound and the Fly.
We even made the captions stay up just a little longer so our younger visitors can read them too!

UPDATE: The cart page is now working fine which means you can now purchase what is in your cart. Thank you for your patience!
Hello again!
We recently moved myalbino.com to a new web hosting company. For some days during the migration the site was completely down but we now fixed that … mostly that is. As I am writing this, our cart page is not available due to a technical issue. This means you can browse through our entire collection, see all the information available and read our blog but you cannot purchase what you add to your cart. We have someone looking at it though.
The upside of the migration is that now our site loads quite a bit faster and that overall it feels snappier. We hoped that would happen so we are very happy about that.
The cart should again be fully functional within 24 hours. We will post any updates here.
Regards,
Aris
