ALBINO who? ALBINO what?

Behind the scenes at ALBINO is a husband and wife team. We both work in design, textiles, fashion and software development. This experience has enabled us to envision and develop a device that makes colouring-in T-shirts easier. The result has been our "patent pending" backing which we have applied to a colour-in-able T-shirt that children can complete with considerably more success and ease than in the past. Straight out of the box, with no preparation and with little or no help from an adult, the ALBINO product removes many technical obstacles that would usually prevent a child from being creative within this medium.

Our choice of subject matter

Our T-shirt designs are derived from things that a child may want to put on a shirt or ask their parents to draw on one for them. The range of designs focuses on the simple, appealing things from the world that surrounds them. Children are fascinated by the new things that they learn about their world everyday. These are the same things that had fascinated all of us when we were kids. We hope that ALBINO can engage and encourage your little friends’ inquisitive nature!

Site design

We decided that the star of the site should be the-design-on-the-shirt and that our star should always be clickable. To accomplish this, we avoided using any ornamental graphics on the site, the only graphics you will see are the designs we make available, our product logo and a faint background tapestry. Therefore, when you see a design on any page in the site, you can immediately recognise it as something you can either buy or interact with. We kept the colour of the pages to a minimum to accentuate the fact that the shirt has no colour on it other than that involved to colour-in the shirt. Therefore, the only colours you will see, apart from the top and bottom site bars, are the ones you choose for your shirts. We also simplified the categories to really basic ones: swim, fly, walk, roll and "stuff". You can easily combine these categories in the T-shirt viewer so you can see designs relating to things that can, for example, both swim and walk.
